Jennifer Aniston Watch

After over two months of principal photography, spanning two states, Marley & Me has officially wrapped up production. Author John Grogan has been blogging about his experience watching real life become reel life, and once the production moved to Pennsylvania (where the Grogans currently live), he has been on hand to witness a lot of the movie magic. He’s had great things to say about the entire experience, and according to one recent entry, it sounds like his wife has gotten in on the fun as well:

As you can imagine, Jenny doesn’t think it’s too shabby to be portrayed by J.A. (Nor I by O.W.) Her big joke with Aniston is to say, “Can you rough yourself up a little? You’re looking way too good to be playing Jenny.” And the actress graciously and gamely answers: “It’s all makeup and hairspray. That’s all it is.” Yeah, right, Jen. You keep saying that.

John, Jenny, and their youngest child Colleen were on the set on Thursday night, when director David Frankel officially called it a wrap after Owen nailed one last scene in front of a makeshift veterinary office. He had some very high praise for all involved in the production:

The entire time I was present on the set — several days since filming began in March — not once did I observe a raised voice, bad attitude or tense exchange. Even Jennifer Aniston, whose scenes wrapped up last week and was not present Thursday night, commented on it; she told me last week that she had never worked on a movie with such great positive energy nor with a cast and crew that felt so much like a family.

So where was Jen? After spending so much time away from Los Angeles, it seems that she felt that there’s no place like home. X17 Video has video of Jen leaving Sunset Towers on May 27th. She was then photographed out and about in Beverly Hills on the 29th. Finally, she was spotted leaving colorist Michael Canale’s salon in another X17 video. However, as her hair was still wet when she left, we’ll have to wait to see the finished result, although I’m sure that it’s fabulous as always.

And on a completely unrelated note, someone else arrived in L.A. recently as well. Do with that what you will.

When it comes to movie news, it seems that when it rains, it pours - in a good way. Just as the excitement of the very first trailer for He’s Just Not That Into You began to wear off, it came to my attention that People magazine ran an exclusive sneak peek in its latest issue, with a never-before-seen still of Jen and Ben sharing a tender moment, along with the inside scoop from producer Nancy Juvonen (who says, not surprisingly, that Jen is “divine” in the film). On a random note, does anyone else remember the NBC series Ed? Seeing Justin Long and Ginnifer Goodwin (who played Warren and Diane on the series) together reminds me of that brilliant, and sorely missed, show. All the more reason to look forward to He’s Just Not That Into You, then!

As previously reported, He’s Just Not That Into You has been pushed back to an October release. However, New Line has released a brief trailer for the flick, giving us a taste of what is to come. See the trailer here, where Jen’s character Beth expresses her thoughts on her boyfriend’s apparent allergy to matrimony (although many of us have already seen how that ends up).

The ensemble piece, in which Jen appears alongside Ben Affleck, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson, and The Break-Up costar Justin Long, is set for release in the U.S. on October 24. Based on the photographic evidence available to us, Jen has been keeping company with John Mayer for about a month now. However, even a month ago, they did look rather cozy, didn’t they? Well, according to the New York Post, they have been together longer than the public knows - about three months, all told.

According to their “source,” Jen wanted to keep it quiet until she knew whether it was more than a fling. Normally, “sources” tend to be on par with voices in the writer’s head - however, this story actually makes sense. Even the earliest photos don’t read as “first date” body language. And within that three-month time span, John, always noted for his candor, wrote some things on his blogs that are rather interesting when considered in the context of Jen’s views about fame. And on one recent red carpet, his comments about recent media coverage showed that he, for one, has nothing to hide.

So what do we think? Discuss.

As we all know by now, Tuesday night’s scene on West Gay Street in West Chester, PA attracted a lot of attention. Well, I have happily had the opportunity to interview one of the many dedicated souls who stuck around to see filming in action. As a German major and film minor at nearby West Chester University, Ashley seized the opportunity to watch the production of a major motion picture, and she was rewarded for her tenacity, as she not only got to watch the work behind all that movie magic, but she also saw Jen and Owen! The brave souls who stuck it out through yesterday’s rain got a real treat as day became evening on the West Chester set of Marley & Me. Here, courtesy of the troupers at WireImage, we see Jen and Owen running through the faux snow covering West Gay Street - in full wedding attire! We’ve seen Jen tie the knot a lot in recent months, first with Ben Affleck, then with Woody Harrelson, and now with Owen - what’s going on? Fortunately, this Jen keeps her serial matrimony onscreen only. And looks gorgeous all the while. The day before, Jen was far more casual while filming another scene; pics can be found at PopSugar and Gossip Girls.

Fans in Pennsylvania found themselves a bit too well-hydrated this morning, as Fox 29’s fan segment welcoming Jen to West Chester found itself at the hands of a morning downpour, as well as a bit of unfortunate timing.

It turns out that Fox 29 morning show Good Day Philadelphia was perhaps a bit too early to catch Jen in action on the set of Marley & Me in West Chester, PA. Camped out in front of Kildare’s Irish Pub on Gay Street, reporter Jennaphr Frederick and her crew braved the rain and chilly temperatures to talk to the fans who did the same. Unfortunately, the scene’s elaborate setup (complete with fake snow) was still underway between the hours of 7 and 9, and the stars are not expected to report to the set until later in the day, as filming is scheduled to extend into the evening. Maybe the after-work crowd will have better luck.

However, Ms. Frederick did manage to get a few words in with fans and passersby, who enjoyed free Smartwater courtesy of Glaceau. Two chairs, with “Jennaphr” and “Jennifer” on the back, were set up across the street from the set, but neither was utilized by its intended recipient during the segment. However, one fan, seated in the “Jennifer” chair, did mention that she had heard about the segment from “a website.” Didn’t name names, though (although the station did kindly link to this blog on their site - thanks!).

Hopefully, fans later in the day will have the opportunity to see Jen and Owen in action – and maybe the weather will be better for them! See video of the segment at Fox 29’s website.

Just reminding Philly-area fans that Fox 29 is still looking for Jen fans to interview bright and early tomorrow morning! Rebecca Rogers has emailed me the following additional info:

- The “Welcome To West Chester” segment will take place rain or shine.
- Any fan who would like to be a part of this can meet the crew in front of Kildares Restaurant (18 W. Gay St., West Chester, PA) at 6:45 am. This location is across the street from Wright Jewelers, where filming will take place.
- Live segments will take place between 7 and 9 am.
- Smartwater will be on hand to hand out Smartwater and Smartwatery goodness.

Don’t worry, that snow is just movie magic! At least, I would guess so, what with it being May and all. After a quick trip to NYC with John, during which she enjoyed a meal at the Waverly Inn and shopped for antiques, Jen has returned to work, as Marley & Me production has moved to the Philly area. New pictures show Jen and Owen frolicking in the faux snow with “Marley” and their three onscreen children. How adorable is this family? Almost as cute as this family. Speaking of such matters, John and Jenny paid a visit to the Philadelphia Inquirer newsroom as scenes were filmed there earlier this week. Check out an interview with John, as well as a glimpse of John and Jenny in the newsroom, here. Director David Frankel was also interviewed that day.

A few weeks back, it was revealed that Jen would appear in another series of print ads for Glaceau’s Smartwater; the ads are shot by photographer Craig McDean. In recent days, the ads for “the water with all the answers” have begun to appear in magazines! Just yesterday, I picked up the latest issue of Allure, and around page 112 I came across not just an ad, but an entire foldout with three photos in total! This even included one photo that I had not seen before, and of course, Jen looks gorgeous in all of them. As the foldouts were very large, I could not scan them; however, I did take pictures of them. Links to the full-size images are below the smaller photos. Enjoy!

As mentioned previously, Jen is expected to begin filming her scenes in West Chester, Pennsylvania on Tuesday (check out Phillyist for pics of Owen and Eric filming yesterday). Well, a local news station is looking for fans to welcome her to the area! Rebecca Rogers of WTXF (Fox 29) in Philadelphia has emailed me about an upcoming segment in which they are looking for Jen fans in the Philly area. Here are some key points to know:

- The segment will include live, on-air interviews with Jen fans, and it will air on the morning show on Tuesday, May 20th.
- Jen will be filming on West Gay Street in West Chester, and news crews will be on the scene during the hours of 7-9 that morning.

Pictures have surfaced of Jen and John Mayer leaving Miami - together! While some have thrown around phrases such as “getting serious” regarding the extent to which Jen and John have enjoyed one another’s company, let’s focus on the real star of the show . . .

Norman Aniston, star of many adorable paparazzi pictures, was spotted on Tuesday boarding a plane to leave Miami. While his owner, Jennifer, spoke to personnel about necessary accommodations for the canine, the four-legged star was seen hanging out with musician John Mayer (above). Witnesses tell me that Norman, while generally pleasant, did at times bark demands at his companions; these demands included a water bowl filled with Smartwater and hourly belly rubs. He did, however, gladly oblige when fans approached him for pictures and pawprints.

Where was Norman headed? Well, if Jen’s whereabouts are any indication, he was headed to Orlando, where John performed last night. People reports that Jen was seen backstage at John’s concert, taking photos all the while and even sneaking a kiss:

While Mayer, 30, played an hour-long set at the convention center, Aniston, 39, wearing a tank top and jeans, shot pictures of him from backstage. At the end of the concert, he came back for a kiss before he went out for an encore and played “Free Fallin’” by Tom Petty.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports that Owen Wilson has already begun filming in Philadelphia with costar Eric Dane (Inquirer newsroom scenes are set to begin tomorrow), while Jen is due to begin filming her scenes next Tuesday. When asked for comment, Norman chased his tail.

With that, residents of the area now have the opportunity to submit for background work, and it just so happens that Heery Casting has just put out a casting call - for tomorrow! From the casting company’s website:

MARLEY AND ME CASTING
We are looking for some Gorgeous female MODELS, age 20-28, who are interested in background work for the feature film, “Marley and Me”, starring Owen Wilson.

These are very featured roles, covered by the SAG agreement. SAG (female) models are preferred, but we will give a waiver if selected. This scene will shoot on Wednesday, May 14 in the Philadelphia area.

Jen fans are an attractive bunch, and I’d like to think that my blog in particular attracts some real lookers, so hopefully this will reach someone who fits the description. According to my thoroughly scientific research, Jennifer Aniston fans are statistically far more likely to be gorgeous models than any other population subset, so the odds are of course quite good. Think he’ll run all the way to Philadephia?

Although it seems like it was just yesterday that pictures of Jen and Owen on the set began to surface, the reality is that they have been hard at work in Miami for two months already. While it seems that all involved have enjoyed their time in the Sunshine State, the production is about to make its way up to Pennsylvania. The Grogans moved to Pennsylvania, Marley in tow, in 1999, and they continue to live there today with their new dog, Gracie (as seen here on John Grogan’s blog with Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan). As those who have read the book know, the family moved when John was hired as managing editor for Organic Gardening magazine, although he eventually returned to newspapers as a columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer. The Inquirer has details on upcoming locations:

Next up before cameras locally: Marley & Me (May 9), which will put Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston not only in West Chester but also on a Philly street for a scene or two (plus one day in The Inquirer’s newsroom).

With that, production in Florida is set to wrap up any moment now, and it is rumored that the cast and crew will have a very special guest to help them celebrate a job well done. x17 reports that John Mayer will be in attendance to play a quick set at the wrap party, which is, rather fittingly, rumored to be an ’80’s-’90’s theme party. I for one can’t imagine any other reason why he’d be there, although x17 is throwing around such phrases as “hot and heavy” and “he’s telling everyone what a cool chick Jen is.” But this visit, clearly, is strictly business, although I won’t go so far as to say what kind of business it is. As always, time will tell.
