More from the Crystal and Lucy Awards

Monday, June 15th, 2009

061209-33

Isn’t she lovely? Jen looked stunning at Friday night’s Women In Film Crystal and Lucy Awards - her silver minidress was a departure from her usual classic style, and she pulled it off beautifully. But it’s not just her gorgeous looks that made an impression on Friday night - while accepting the Crystal Award for excellence in film, she drew laughs as well. She poked fun at the publicity surrounding her love life, along with the fact that her film titles often mirror the headlines. Citing titles like The Good Girl, Rumor Has It . . ., Derailed, and The Break-Up, she concluded that part of her speech with her idea for a solution: “If any of you have a project titled Everlasting Love with an Adult, Stable Male, just go to my table!” Video is below, along with more photos!

Management premiere videos

050509-4

Last week, Jen and her costars hit the red carpet for the Cinema Society screening of Management. Here are some videos from the evening.

TV Guide’s Hollywood 411 caught a cheeky moment between writer/director and star/producer, as Stephen Belber surprised Jen with an impromptu butt touch! Jen then said, “He’s allowed. He wrote it. Wrote it, directed it.” When asked about the “touching” moment in the film, she said, “It’s in his weird mind!” However, weird or not, she said that the moment was also one of her favorite moments in the script. “It’s one of the most memorable scenes in this movie, and one of the main reasons that I took the job was because I’ve never laughed so hard. I’d never seen something so well-written.”

Extra also caught up with Jen on the red carpet, and once again, the butt touch came up. When asked about the focus on her posterior, Jen said, “It’s pretty great. It’s pretty funny, I’ve never seen it, it’s fresh.” In response to a question about the most memorable Friends episodes, Jen said that Emma’s birth and all of the Thanksgiving episodes are the most memorable for her.

ITN asked Jen whether she is anything like Sue, to which she responded, “Not really. Not this one. Which was probably why it was so fun, just had to disappear.” Steve Zahn had some very sweet things to say about his costar: “She’s a brilliant actress and a very modest, humble person who’s just an absolute delight to work with. I couldn’t wait to get to work every day.”

Jen and Steve talk about Management

050509-17

Prior to the screening on Tuesday, Jen and Steve did some interviews to promote Management. One of them was with The Insider’s Steven “Cojo” Cojocaru, and they talked about love scenes and much more!

On Sue:
Cojo: Sue is kind of like the center, and I liked her, she was kind of strong, she had backbone.
Jen: She had damaged backbone!

On Mike:
Cojo: This character, was he crazy or just very persistent?
Steve: He’s a very simple, honest, unpretentious, naive guy.
Cojo: Very likable.
Steve: Yeah, very likable, and sweet, and somewhat of a kid, and then he really grows up, and he really finds himself in the movie, and I think both of them do.

On the laundry room scene:
Cojo: I think what people are going to go away with is the love scene, the sex scene in the laundromat. Discuss.
Steve: That was especially easy.
Jen: Really easy. Steve Belber, the director, had everything so well thought-out.
Steve: I remember in that scene, all I was concentrating on was trying to find the stapler, like we had all these things to throw and it was like, “Where’s that stapler?”

On becoming Sue:
Jen: She’s sort of a no-frills kinda gal, and it was fun putting that wig on every day!
Cojo: Oh, it was a wig.
Jen: Well, I had to do a whole bunch of jobs in a row. I would have, but it was literally like, how do we make every person look a little bit different, and be back-to-back?

Last night was the Cinema Society screening of Management, and Jen, along with the cast and crew of the movie, hit the red carpet at Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema in New York in support of the film. Jen looked gorgeous in a gray minidress - and if those shoes look familiar, it’s because they are! She wore them in Paris.

The entertainment shows were on hand as well - Entertainment Tonight caught up with Jen, who had great things to say about her costar Steve! Jen’s friend Molly Sims was there as well - she told ET, “I’ve come to support her tonight! Her girls are here!” Access Hollywood and Extra were also there - their videos are at the links. Meanwhile, check out a gallery of red carpet photos below!

UK premiere of Marley & Me

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

030209-1

Lights, camera, red carpet! Last night, Jen and Owen hit the red carpet at London’s Leicester Square for the UK premiere of Marley & Me. The costars braved a bracing London chill to greet their fans at the event - Jen wore a stunning blue Burberry dress and Azzedine Alaia sandals, although she eventually put on a black jacket to stay warm.

Jen and Owen showed their mutual admiration for one another, as they told MTV UK how much fun they had filming together. Jen said of her rapport with Owen, “We are friends and we had a really great time from the beginning to the end.” Owen echoed the sentiment: “It was easy and it was fun to film. It was one of those movies where everyone hit it off.” Jen also had wonderful things to say about playing the Grogans - she told the Daily Mail that “the characters that are portrayed are beautiful.”

See below for more photos from the premiere!

Jen in Elle UK

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

elle-cover

Jen may be about to jump into another comedy, with Baster set to film soon in New York, but she has her eye on something radically different - action films! In a new interview with UK’s Elle magazine, she reveals that she would love to take on a Bond girl role: “I’d love to do an action movie. James Bond! Glamour! Daniel Craig! S***-loads of fun!” However, she did tell the mag that Marley & Me, due for UK release on March 11th (and set to premiere in the UK tonight), isn’t exactly fluffy fare: “What’s great about this movie is that it’s a true story. It’s not pretty. It’s about the reality of a marriage.”

Furthermore, she gets real about what it takes to maintain that famous figure - and the demands of the industry on it. She tells the magazine that for the “funny, quirky, pretty” roles she gets offered, she needs to be disciplined about her diet. “I am a realist. I know if I eat nothing but burgers, I’m not going to be hired for parts I normally would.” Nevertheless, she’s comfortable in her skin and at her most peaceful, as she states that at 40, she is happier than ever. “I’m at ease - and not just with my age. Really, I’m at peace. I’ve never felt this good about myself before. I think that shines through.”

The full interview hits stands in the UK on Wednesday - more pictures from the stunning shoot can be seen at the UK’s Daily Mail.

Jen and Owen in Germany

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

022809-1

It seems like just yesterday that Jen and Owen were in Rome - well, it was yesterday. However, the costars have already moved on - to Germany! Jen and Owen are pictured above at a photo call for Marley & Me - or should I say, Marley & Ich - in Cologne. Owen looked dapper in a suit, and Jen was stunning in an all-black ensemble - black shoes, black tights, and a tiny black dress.

wetten-dass-1

They quickly moved on to Dusseldorf for an appearance on the German TV show Wetten dass?, where the hosts make bets with the guests - with often hilarious results. Jen and Owen’s appearance was no exception - when Owen lost one bet, he and Jen ate dog biscuits! Despite the rather unpleasant taste of the biscuits, it seems that Jen and Owen handled the bet with good humor. Their next stop is the United Kingdom, where they will attend a premiere on Monday night. Meanwhile, click the thumbnails below for pictures from the photo call and from Wetten dass?.

Jen and Owen in Rome

Friday, February 27th, 2009

022709-10

That was quick! Just yesterday, Jen and Owen were in Paris, promoting Marley & Me - today, they’re promoting the flick in Rome, after a quick flight last night. The costars were snapped at a photocall in Rome - this one was outdoors, and quite lovely. After rocking a floral frock yesterday, Jen is back in black - she sported an LBD for the photocall, and completed the look with a perky ponytail. Isn’t she gorgeous?

So where to next? Jen and Owen are still scheduled for appearances in Germany and the United Kingdom, so they’ve still got a way to go on their whirlwind tour of Europe - after that, Jen is headed to New York to begin production on Baster. I can’t wait to see more from these adorable costars! More photocall pics are below.

Jen and Owen in Paris!

Friday, February 27th, 2009

022609-2

As previously mentioned, Jen has begun the European leg of Marley & Me promotion, and it all started in Paris! With that, she and Owen were snapped yesterday at a Paris photocall for Marley & Moi, as it is known en France, and the adorable costars looked terrific! Jen branched out from her typical neutrals - she wore a floral minidress with dark tights and insanely high Christian Louboutin heels. Some have been torn on the look, but I like it! It is definitely different for Jen, and the blue in the floral print brings out her beautiful blue eyes.

So what’s next for the jet-setting costars? After an appearance on French TV, they got on a plane to Rome (pictures at Gossip Girls)! Meanwhile, enjoy more pictures of the Paris photocall below.

Jen and John at the Vanity Fair party!

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

vfparty-4

After the Oscars, the stars hit the afterparties, and in my admittedly biased opinion, Jen and John were the cutest couple of the night. The pair showed up at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party looking adorable and affectionate as they mingled with the elite crowd. Other stars in attendance (and pictured with Jen below) included Meryl Streep, Gerard Butler, Christina Applegate, Megan Mullally, and Gwen Stefani. However, as the pictures below show, Jen spent much of the evening with her beau, looking very much in love. In fact, John recently told Ryan Seacrest that he had attended as support for Jen - but she ended up being his support!

So where to next for Jen? Europe! She has promotional duties in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom for Marley & Me, and she was recently snapped at LAX (pics at PopSugar). Pictures from the Vanity Fair party are below - enjoy!

Jen and Jack in the press room

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

oscars09-8

Continuing my game of catch-up after technological snafus earlier in the week, here are pictures of Jen in the Academy Awards press room with Jack Black and two new Academy Award winners. On the Oscar stage, they presented awards in the animation categories; Wall-E, directed by Andrew Stanton, won for Best Animated Feature, while La Maison en Petit Cubes, directed by Kunio Kato, won for Best Animated Short Film. Fitting his short film, Kato gave a short speech as well, saying very simply “Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto” in a nod to Styx.

After the presentation of the awards, Jen, Jack, and the winners were photographed in the press room - check out the photos below! I still cannot get over how gorgeous Jen looked in her Valentino gown - she was easily one of the evening’s best dressed!

Jen presents at the Oscars!

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

First of all, I’d like to apologize for the delay in my Oscar reporting - on Sunday of all days, I had some computer woes that still have not entirely resolved themselves. So I’m playing catch-up the best I can. Anyway, Jen was a presenter at Sunday’s Academy Awards - she and Jack Black presented the awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short. Despite what many perceived to be nerves, Jen did very well, showing grace and good humor throughout the presentation. She looked terrific as well - she deviated from her usual basic black with a sparkly white Valentino, and her hair, accented with a delicate braid in front, looked beautiful as always (check out Jen and other Oscar beauties at Hot or Not Beauty). A video from the show is below, along with a photo gallery. Enjoy!

Bits and pieces before the Oscars

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

0220092

- It is confirmed that Jen will present tomorrow night at the Academy Awards. E!’s Marc Malkin reveals that Jen will share the stage with Jack Black.

- Last night, Jen and John celebrated a friend’s birthday at Lucky Strike (above and at X17). If Jen looks a bit fancy for bowling, it’s because events earlier in the evening were a bit dressier - Mr. Malkin reveals that Jen was in attendance at a Gray Goose party at Cecconi’s, along with stars including Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Bradley Cooper, and Jason Bateman. She was then spotted at agent Bryan Lourd’s pre-Oscar party - others in attendance there included Oprah Winfrey, Bruce Willis, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

- Jen and her father John Aniston will narrate the CD of Loukoumi’s Good Deeds, an upcoming children’s book by Nick Katsoris. The sweet story follows Loukoumi, a little lamb who learns the power of kind acts towards others. Other celebrities featured on the story CD include Constantine Maroulis, Gloria Gaynor, and Picture Perfect costar Olympia Dukakis. Jen and her dad also provide voices for other stories on the disk, including Loukoumi’s Gift and Growing Up With Loukoumi. Best of all, it’s all for a good cause - proceeds from the book will support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

- Jen’s friend and hairstylist Chris McMillan has a new line of hair products called Chris McMillan Hair. The line includes a shampoo, a conditioner, an intensive repair mask, and styling products. Read more about this new venture at his website and at Hot or Not Beauty - the products are available online for purchase here.

John shows up for Armani and talks Oscars

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

john-mayer-1

After their romantic trip to the Bahamas, Jen and John boarded separate planes - as it turns out, John was headed to New York, where he attended the opening of Armani’s Fifth Avenue boutique last night. John showed up stag, but he looked very handsome on the red carpet, wearing - what else? - an Armani suit.

He did reveal, however, that he won’t be alone on Oscar night - he told PopSugar that he will be in attendance as an “Oscar boyfriend,” confirming prior rumors that Academy member Jen will be on hand for the big night! I know that I, for one, look forward to seeing this beautiful pair on the red carpet together. What will she wear? What will he wear? We’ll just have to tune in to find out. Meanwhile, check out more pictures of John at the Armani opening below.
