A Date Change for HJNTIY
Tuesday, April 29th, 2008
It seems that we will have to wait a bit longer to see He’s Just Not That Into You - the US release date has been pushed back to October 24. There have been whisperings about this for a while, but given the somewhat ludicrous reasons for the move given by the tabloid press, I was hesitant to say anything. However, it’s now official, and cast member Bradley Cooper recently told MSNBC’s The Scoop what he thinks of the change:
“The film is great,” said Bradley Cooper, who stars in the film. “And to tell you the truth, it’s better for the film that it’s opening in October. It’s a good thing.”
Cooper also said that a summer release would have been a strange fit for the film: “It’s not a massive, blockbuster-type movie. That was never, ever the intent. This is a smaller movie, more artsy than what you expect in the summer months. I think the fall is perfect for the release.”
While I would have loved to see this movie sooner, it is good to hear something about this decision that isn’t pure speculation. And Management is still set for a September release, so those waiting for a Jen fix don’t have to wait too much longer. Patience is a virtue - I know, not one that I have in abundance either, but come fall, what patience we can muster up will pay off in spades.
