Upcoming projects - a review

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

The next few months look to be busy ones for Jen! Here is an outline of her filming schedule for the near future.

He’s Just Not That Into You This ensemble piece begins filming in LA on Monday. Jen’s ever-expanding list of costars includes Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Ginnifer Goodwin, Bradley Cooper, and Justin Long.

Management October brings three weeks of filming in Madras, Oregon for this quirky comedy in which Steve Zahn plays a hotel manager who pursues Jen’s traveling art saleswoman all over the country.

Marley & Me This project, based on John Grogan’s memoir, has been slated to begin filming early in 2008; however, with costar Owen Wilson’s personal circumstances pending, this is tentative.

You Are Here This love-triangle film costarring Sam Rockwell is also set to begin filming early in the new year.

Other projects, such as Goree Girls, The Senator’s Wife and Wanted are said to be in the works, but at this time no definite plan has been set for production. Either way, we’ll be seeing a lot of Jen very soon!

Some more responses to questions from Jen fans the world over:

From Caity in Chicago:

All I want to know right now is, out of the many many rumored movie projects, which ones are officially announced? Im pretty sure Wanted and Management were official, but I’ve heard at least five others, some in the recent future and some in the not-so-recent future.

Also, whats the news on Wanted? I’ve heard cancellation/delay rumors.

One last thing, haha. I heard an actual rep for Paul Sculfor announced that the two are only friends now- is there a truly official statement on the subject, or is everything out speculation/pure crap?

Right now, the projects that seem to be in any form of preproduction are Management, He’s Just Not That Into You, and Marley & Me. You Are Here also seems to be slated for filming early next year, but as that is some time away, that is subject to change. Wanted has been delayed for a good two years since its original announcement, so as much as I personally would love to see Jen in that role, I wouldn’t hold my breath. There hasn’t been a peep regarding that project since about April. If it happens at all it will be after the more immediate projects listed above.

Regarding Paul, it does seem that their status was always rather casual. The only word from Jen’s rep regarding the subject is an early statement saying that media reports of their relationship were “premature.” So it would appear that they had their fun but any talk of a more serious relationship was pure speculation, and they have not been seen together in some time.

From Vilma:

Hi Jen!!! how are you?? do you know i love you??? lol

I can’t speak for her, but I’m sure that she’d be glad to know what loyal fans she attracts!

From Kat:

Hey….i was wondering if jen and paul are still together or is it just the tabloids making it up because they havent been photographed together?they’re too cute together!!!

As stated in my response to Caity’s question, there is no current evidence to suggest that they are together at this time; however, there is nothing definitive to say that they are not. My suspicion is that they are not currently involved and were never particularly serious, bt if they are together then they have managed to remain remarkably private about it.

More to come!

Variety brings us the happy news of another new Jen movie; she will costar with Steve Zahn in Management, a romantic comedy with a rather unusual premise:

Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn will star in “Management,” a romantic comedy that marks the feature directing debut of playwright-screenwriter Stephen Belber.
Pic will be financed by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment; Temple Hill partners Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are producing.

Aniston will play a traveling saleswoman who sells cheap art to small companies and motels. She has a fling with an aimless, underachieving assistant motel manager (Zahn) at one of her stops, and he pursues her all over the U.S.

Belber wrote the script with the intention of directing it and enlisted Godfrey and Bowen, who are currently producing an adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel “Dear John” that will star Channing Tatum.

No immediate word on a start date, but here’s hoping that it’s soon!
