Marley & Me is licking up the competition at the box office, and with that, Jen’s girl-next-door charm has once again won over millions of moviegoers. Not only is her acting in this movie terrific, but she looks phenomenal. Jen’s look in Marley & Me is interesting because it changes over the course of the movie - the film spans over a decade, and during that time, Jennifer Grogan goes from a young newlywed to a mother of three, and she looks the part every step of the way. From the early ’90’s to the more recent past, Jenny’s life changed, as did the fashions of the time, but Jen’s onscreen style is comfortable and tasteful throughout the film.

Clothing: To keep up with Marley, comfort is first and foremost, and sure enough, Jenny’s wardrobe in the early ’90’s consists of a lot of tees, tank tops, and shorts in an array of bright colors, along with sundresses to beat the Florida heat. As time goes by, the palette of Jenny’s wardrobe becomes more muted, reflecting both a change in popular fashion and the character’s more mature taste. By the end of the film, the Grogan family has moved to Pennsylvania, and Jenny keeps out the cold with sweaters, coats, and boots. According to CelebStyle, the brands that she wears include James Perse, Splendid, and that old standby The Gap.

Hair/makeup: Not surprisingly, her beauty look evolved over the course of the film as well. In the press conference transcript at About.com, Jen mentions that the stylists on the set used wigs, extensions, and clip-on bangs to create varying styles for her character. Most of the styling trickery is evident early in the film, when Jenny wears heavy bangs for a younger look. Later in the film, she goes without the fringe and wears her hair simple and straight. Her makeup stays pretty consistent, though, with a natural, glowing look that compliments her bronzed complexion.

That necklace: You know which necklace I’m talking about. The necklace that went on a rather unusual journey, but is gorgeous nevertheless. That necklace is actually two pendants worn on one chain - both pendants are designed by Jen’s pal Jennifer Meyer, who also designed the jewelry that Jen wore in The Break-Up.
