Fan spotlight - Laura

Laura, a 16-year-old student from Germany, is a veteran Jen fan whom I have known personally for a few years now. A reliable presence on Jen message boards, she has been known to maintain a level-headed approach in her appreciation for Jen and her work. Above all, though, she is a really cool girl and always a pleasure to talk to, and this interview was no exception. Without any further ado, here is what she had to say:
Erin: How long have you been a Jen fan?
Laura: Since 2001/2002, which makes it almost 6 years. Wow.
Erin: What was it about Jen that caught your attention initially?
Laura: I’d have to say it was Friends. I was around 9 (1999) when I first watched a Friends episode and I immediately liked the Rachel character.
Erin: Cool! I think that a lot of us fell in love with her in that role; what qualities have you come to admire in Jen since then?
Laura: I’m kind of fascinated with her constant positivity. Especially since she’s working as an actress and is a big tabloid target. It seems almost obvious to say that she seems human, relatable and all that but it’s true. I also like that she has to work hard to get appreciated with critics. If everyone would always be singing her praises, I would have gotten bored a few years ago.
Erin: That is a very interesting perspective, especially on that last point. She is very underrated, and now that you mention it I can see how that adds to her appeal. What do you think of the career choices that she’s made?
Laura: I don’t see “career” the same way a lot of people do. A career is definitely about success and money-making (especially in this business) but that doesn’t matter to me at all. I honestly don’t care all that much which projects she takes on. It’s always great to see her in something different, though. Therefore, I love her independent films (The Good Girl, Office Space & Friends with Money). I have not been disappointed with her projects so far, so I guess you could say that I really like her career choices.
Erin: What would you say is your favorite thing that she’s done (that is, if you can even choose)?
Laura: That’s seriously a tough choice. Character-wise, I’d say Derailed as Lucinda (although I think the character could have been developed a bit more) and movie-wise, it would have to be The Good Girl. A Lucinda kind of character as a main character would have been perfect (though impossible in Derailed).
Erin: Hmmmm, great idea! Now, the upcoming months look to be very exciting for Jen. What project are you most excited about?
Laura: That would have to be Traveling. The plot sounds awesome (a drama is always nice) and Aaron Eckhart is just… ugh, gorgeous.
Erin: Changing gears a bit, I’ve come to know you as something of a leader among Jen fans; anything you’d like to say about your experience on Jen boards and the like?
Laura: First of all, thank you. You can really tell which fans joined recently and which ones belong to the “old crowd”. Unfortunately, the name Jennifer Aniston is connected to a lot of gossip and while the old crowd simply smiles or rolls its eyes when there’s a new and unbelievably believable new rumor popping up everywhere; the new ones are more appalled at the stuff that’s written. But most importantly, some Jennifer fans I’ve known for about 3 years (you, as well) and that shows just how loyal and nice her fans are. I’m proud to be a part of such a close-knit group of fans.
Erin: Awwww, I’m truly touched! I do agree that I have had wonderful experiences with other fans and I do think that that speaks to what Jen attracts both on a personal level and among her fans.
Erin: So have you had any unique Jen-related experiences that you’d like to share?
Laura: I actually can’t think of anything unique, no. It’s always fun to see Jennifer’s fans get excited over new pictures, interviews or the like, though. It always makes me laugh.
Erin: Hehehe, very true. Well, that’s all that I’ve got, but I would like to thank you very much for taking the time to do this interview! This was definitely a treat.
Laura: The pleasure’s all mine.

I agree about the “old crow” commentary. I totally related to that because I’ve been a Jen Fan almost nine years. I do a lot of smiling and roll my eyes this days.
But after all this time, I still get excited to see new pics, interviews and movies lol
I just love Jen

I wonder, why jen can’t keep a man. After being with her with her, they find a way to exit. Maybe because she not beautiful inside and out.
