Flashback - ShoWest 2005
In March 2005, ShoWest presented Jen with the Female Star of the Year award, in large part due to her recent prolific streak (Rumor Has It, Derailed, Friends With Money). The timing of the award, however, allowed celebrity watchers to assign a whole other meaning to the appearance, as this would be her first public appearance since announcing her separation. Many eagerly anticipated this as a coming-out of sorts, due to the sensationalist nature of recent media coverage.
Like any other time, however, Jen navigated this evening with class and good humor. Looking understated and chic in a little black dress, she spent much of the evening with a smile on her face. She very graciously gave interviews to Access Hollywood and the Hollywood Reporter in which she expressed gratitude to her fans and optimism about the future. As on many other occasions, here she showed the right way to handle the sometimes glaring spotlight of the public eye.

god she is one strong woman- its amazing, i would NEVER have handled myself as well as she did.

She is amazingly strong. I probably would have publicly been spiteful towards Brad and Angelina, but not Jen. She’s so great!

jen is my role model, i love her. i love the way she is and the way she has carried herself. i just wish she would smile more when she is been photographed, she always looks sad, which makes me sad. so please smile.
