Friend Spotlight: Andrea Bendewald

One of Jen’s closest friends is Andrea Bendewald, best known for her role as Maddy on Suddenly Susan. Many observers have noticed similarities in Andrea’s acting style to Jen’s, and this is perhaps not surprising, considering that they both got their start at LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts in New York City. The two met in acting class 20 years ago and have been inseparable ever since. More recently, they’ve even worked together; Andrea had a cameo in Picture Perfect (as a pregnant friend of Kate’s) and a guest role in 7th season Friends episode “The One With the Cheap Wedding Dresses.” Of this appearance, Andrea offered this sound bite in the book Friends ‘Til The End:
Jennifer Aniston and I are best friends since we were 14, so the greatest part of doing the show personally was working with Jen. And also I had gotten engaged a week before when I got a call to come to the part. I said, ‘I’ll do anything. I’ll carry a tea cup.’ I called Jen, and she had no idea. So we got to spend a week at work, talking about being engaged, looking at wedding dresses together, so I was through the roof. And it was a trip professionally, because I know the cast really well but to be acting with them in front of an audience really was kind of like a dream.
Jen and Andrea have known each other for two decades and have seen each other through tremendous milestones, and it is clear that this is one of Jen’s most special friendships.

[...] 2003 The following year, again nominated for the lead actress prize, Jen was feeling decidedly more low-key. As she later told Vogue, she wasn’t feeling “gowny and fabulous”, so she opted for a vintage Halston dress and simple, straight hair (Chris corroborates Jen’s sentiment, telling Us Weekly that Jen “wanted to be comfortable” that night). Adding to the comfort factor was her choice of date; with Brad away filming Troy, Jen made it a girls’ night with her friend Andrea Bendewald. [...]
