Friend Spotlight: Chris McMillan

Jen and Chris at an Allure event in 2004
As many observers know, Chris McMillan is not only Jen’s hairdresser, but a close confidant as well. They first met in 1994, around the time that Friends made its debut. He created the now-notable “Rachel” hairstyle (which, as noted previously, was first sported by Cameron Diaz). Ever since, Jen has trusted Chris with all of her many tress changes, and they have enjoyed something of a symbiotic relationship, as his own success as a hairdresser has grown tremendously. They have grown close on a personal level as well; he is often spotted with her out and about in L.A., and he often travels with her for press junkets and location filming (such as the Chicago filming of The Break-Up. He is even said to have been a critical support immediately following Jen’s divorce.
Here is his May 2004 “Hair Guy” column from Allure magazine, about Jen (click to enlarge the thumbnail):

Clearly, they’ve shared more than beauty advice over the years; Jen has a reliable friend in Chris as well.
