Jen’s 2008 Career Highlights
2008 was a busy year for Jen! This year, she filmed two movies, and saw one of them hit #1 at the box office! And that’s not all - we saw her on TV screens, magazine covers, and the red carpet - just about everywhere, really. Here’s a look at Jen’s year:
Traveling films Jen started her year off with a starring role in Traveling, opposite Aaron Eckhart. We saw her on the Vancouver set of the romantic drama as she filmed her role as Eloise, a free-spirited florist. Traveling hits screens in April 2009.
Marley & Me films Traveling had not yet wrapped (although Jen had finished her role) when she made her way to Miami to film Marley & Me costarring Owen Wilson. We watched as the cast and crew recreated the ’90’s for the film’s early scenes, then looked on as more recent events in the book were reenacted in Pennsylvania. We even got the inside scoop from Ashley of West Chester! Marley & Me is currently playing in theaters.
Jen 30 Rocks it After some downtime over the summer, Jen got back to work, filming a guest appearance on the Emmy-winning NBC comedy 30 Rock. Jen played Claire Harper, Liz Lemon’s former roommate who takes a rather intense interest in Alec Baldwin’s Jack Donaghy. She was back on NBC and as funny as ever!
Management premieres at TIFF Management, an independent film that Jen filmed last year and coproduced, had its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. It was one of the most talked-about films at the festival, and it later found a distributor - Management is set for a fall 2009 release.
Marley & Me is a hit! Jen’s #1! After a whirlwind publicity tour, Jen’s movie Marley & Me hit screens on Christmas Day with a very strong opening - not only did it top the weekend box office, but it broke the record for Christmas Day openings! It’s a very good movie, too - I already told you my thoughts, and I highly recommend it. The film’s success can only mean good things for Jen going into 2009, especially with so many of her films set to hit theaters in the coming year!
Meanwhile, I would like to thank my readers for a terrific 2008 - what a ride it’s been! And I’d like to wish you all a happy, healthy 2009.
